A rainbow spectrum of colour from Fyodor Golan’s collection at 180 Strand, was flourished with true girl power as their designs were inspired by the Powerpuff Girls. With an electro-pop ambience, the models embraced brilliant brights and colour clashes to compliment the clean cut silhouettes of the garments. The designer-duo Fyodor Podgorny and Golan Frydman incorporated Post-its stuck onto PVC denim jackets, jeans and skirts. These adhesive accents made bold statements as a new fashion (“reminder”) accessory. Neon camouflage, oversized puffer jackets with extended fixed sleeves, baring flesh of the shoulders and around the bust encapsulates Fyodor Golan pushing the boundaries. A glimpse into a retro future, the collection featured embroidery of video game prints and fierce faced cartoons. The “strong but soft” look painted as masks for the models was created by Kiko Milano cosmetics.
With multicoloured stripes and infusion of the loveable cartoon characters, the collection brought a vibrant and bold yet playful spin of fearless females. Fyodor Golan’s repeated slogan of “Power” on fabricated jumper dresses resonates with the growing number of women embarking on becoming leaders within today’s current society. The show displayed a true tradition of the brands iconic hues and designs that can always save the day. A perfect blend of street influence alongside pop culture injected into the collection creates an adorable but assertive look.
