Taking photographs of herself became a tool of self-expression: a way of creatively taking the negative and overwhelming feelings of anxiety and discomfort and transforming them through the act of addressing the camera. In her own words: “I sat down in front of the camera when I felt like I had something to vent or when I felt empty.”
