As we chat over lunch, Alicia talks of her love of culture and her second visit to the Tate in just a matter of days. I wonder how she finds the time to manage such a diverse portfolio of projects, ranging from high fashion to food. In addition to this, she is also currently writing her first book. “The more I do, the better I do. If I’m super busy I’ll do it really well. I’m so interested in everything, I read a lot, I watch a lot, I love music. The more I know, the more I want to know. I’m just super curious, asking people about themselves, it’s nice to be educated on it all.” After mentioning that she had recently attended Beyoncé’s ‘Formation’ tour, she energetically sings, “Finally you put my love on top”, her song of the moment; the soundtrack to her life. Alicia is a force of her own. She is charming, warm and a dreamer; she is the embodiment of a complete businesswoman. Juggling her passions has taken time, but if the industry has taught her anything, it is that you need a balance to be truly happy and remain grounded when in the spotlight. Alicia’s moto is if Beyoncé can do it, anyone can, “Beyoncé has the same hours in the day, she’s doing all these different projects, and I can too.”
