Comedy met Fashion for the presentation of the Band Of Outsiders SS18 collection. The intimate setting of the presentation in the Secret Comedy club, was fitting for the inspiration behind the collection, as Jacques Tati, maritime and work wear were all contributors. The energy of the designer shone through in not just the collection, but the atmosphere before the show and the style of the collection and how it was presented. The fun, playful and vibrant style of clothing was effortlessly portrayed through the use of the comedians who wore the clothing.
The collection has a full wardrobe from trousers, shirts, jumpers, jackets playing with the seasons theme, of rough cotton twills and the iconic Breton stripes. There is a piece in the collection for everyone as it is so wearable and versatile. Band of Outsiders are able to take ship-life concept pieces such as lifejackets and parkas and redesign them for ever day wear. The colour scheme used in the collection highlights summer, with blues, whites and creams blended with bold flashes of red, yellow, orange and green. Tailoring is completed by Band of Outsider’s own take on classic staples.
