The remarkable bespoke tailoring of Antonio Berardi never disappoints and this Spring/ Summer 2018 collection reaches a new level of opulence and technicality, demonstrating multiple shapes and textures with intricate detailing. Berardi plays with the female silhouette with confidence and ease as he combined classic feminine shapes and intricate lace with heavier masculine tailoring and bold patterns. We are reminded by Berardi that everyone is ‘descended from immigrants and revolutionists’ Franklin D. Roosevelt. With this in mind the diversity of the casting and the variety of garments he presents in his collection all tie together to create a more politically driven collection than what meets the eye. As the lights ascended the atmosphere changed and this revolutionary element of the show became clear as the models strutted out to heavy beats and chimes.
