For AW16 Belstaff was all about the ‘Pioneer Woman’, inspired by Jackie Edith Rone the first woman who set foot in Antartica in 1947. In true Belstaff style their collection remained true to their heritage but also continued to show breakthrough with a cool and contemporary collection for the modern woman.
With a warm and earthy colour palette Belstaff showed off their luxurious AW16 in One Marylebone. Outerwear as always remains as the standout piece, coats came in shearling and fur form, baseball style bomber jackets were in silk, capes had patchwork detailing, signature leather jackets got funnel necks and also came in a quilted style, whilst more tailored coats also made an appearance. Leather is always a material of choice in a Belstaff collection, apart from leather jackets this season we also saw leather trousers and leather all in-ones adding to the biker chic style of Belstaff. Other pieces that also caught our attention were a turtle neck knitted jumper with a braid detail and the pleated skirts in an organza material.
The collection also saw a capsule line designed by Liv Tyler feature in the presentation which featured a more military style. There ranged from lace-up boots, woollen coats, backpacks and fur lined anoraks in a khaki colour.
