The classics have had yet another makeover with Faustine Steinmetz’s Spring/Summer 2018 collection as she de and re constructed trenches, jeans, white shirts, tracksuits, silk scarfs and the white-tee. As shirts and denim jackets sliced and diced fell to the floor should we change the motto to ‘if it is broke don’t fix it’. In a world of fast and throw-away-able fashion Steinmetz is wearing, rewearing, reweaving, reinventing the pieces we all have in our closets. Nothing can’t be fixed with a fresh lick of paint as coats and trousers pained in thick silicone came down the catwalk looking good enough to eat. Faustine Steinmetz has kept her name as the Weaving Maestro for another season, now bow for applause.
