On the second day of London Fashion Week Men’s, John Smedley presented their SS18 collection outdoors at the Jermyn Street Catwalk Space. The SS18 collection effectively takes an original look on introducing precision which intertwines itself within the brand without eradicating Smedley’s use of heritage and hand crafted techniques.
The art of tailoring is shown throughout the SS18 collection from the menswear and womenswear suits. Classic shirts with collars and elegant jackets are designed to emphasise the running theme of precision which neatly merges itself with classic heritage. With focus on accuracy and fluidity, the collection features a balance of high and low maintenance garments, each which reinforces practicality and simplicity for various occasions; with additional touches of subtle embroidery and unique, bold prints.
Asian influence prevails throughout the collection through the technique of classic cuts and defined tailoring. The use of silk material and kimono style pleats worked in with delicate embroidery and original watercolour of Japanese Koi accentuates the application of the Asian culture throughout the collection.
