L’amitie Spring/Summer ’16 collection was full of variety, it showcased a vast range of colours, silhouettes and garments. Consistency was kept through the silky material used throughout. Trouser styles varied from oversized flares, culottes and tailored cigarette trousers. Wide palazzo pants were spliced on the sides allowing for an airy summer look. Waists were accentuated on tops and dresses with fabric waist ties.
It felt as though the show gradually took us from daytime clothing transcending into eveningwear. The colour scheme contributed to this ranging from soft pastel blues, white and creams darkening with deep navy and black.
Hair was brushed back into a ponytail, using backcombing to create volume around the head, from the front it looked like a mock bob. Lashes and eyes were powdered white creating a very clean and striking beauty story.
An asymmetric seemed to dominate the silhouettes with diagonal hemlines and necklines, often leaving one shoulder exposed. This seems to be a dominant characteristic throughout a lot of collections this year, maybe a trend to bear in mind for Spring/Summer 2016.
