Rejina Pyo SS16 – London Fashion Week

At the Pippy Houldsworth Gallery we were treated to bright and colourful SS16 collection by Rejina Pyo. Rejina is known for making clothes that as a woman one would be excited to wear. This gave us a beautiful ready to wear collection that we couldn’t get enough of.

It was playful yet elegant collection full of asymmetrical cuts and relaxed silhouettes packed with colour. Red and oranges were combined with pale blues, navies, whites and hints of terracotta. Rejina treated us to range of dresses, skirts, shirts, cropped trousers and jackets all incredibly layered to create outfits that were instant hits with a twist.

The details on her garments are what Pyo used to give her collection a twist. There were irregular cuts, 3D draping and oversized pockets. She used beautiful turquoise suede to create a cropped boxy biker jacket that was given a great contrast with the giant silver zip. A favourite of ours were the strappy colour blocked camis that some of the models wore, another staple everyday item. The prints on some of the garments were painted by Rejina herself and the images were screen printed directly onto the silk and knitwear items.

Pyo gives the woman freedom and functionality to do what she wants with her collection and the excitement to see what she does next is abundant.
