Sabinna – London Fashion Week – AW17

Romantic love heart prints on mint green silk and accents of deep red velvet, Sabinna brought us ‘I still love you’. The AW17 collection was inspired by teenage love and impressing that person, whilst trying to be true to yourself. The designer had stitched wording onto sweat shirts that read ‘Be mine or go away’ and this was mirrored in writing beneath the model’s eyes – a nod to the battle one faces with their first love and dealing with its complexities. Feminine touches included hand crocheted flowers in models’ hair along with French braids and soft knitted waist bands that highlighted the diversity of textures used. Sabinna perfected the balance between functionality and femininity placing velvet dungarees under a silk organza blouse, and soft pink crochet knits with smart cropped trousers. This emphasises the versatile nature of the collection and it’s wearability. All the pieces were paired with court block heels in ruby red, nude, and crushed velvet. The collection unites women in love, regardless of their style or age with the variety of flowing skirts with ruffles, short dresses, and peg trousers. The show felt even more contemporary as guests were offered the chance to shop the pieces later on that day, a memorable collection from Sabinna with a message we can all relate to.
