Sibling SS17 LCM

Designer duo Cozette McCreery and Sid Bryan from Sibling sent us a post card straight from the Miami poolside. The collection titled ‘Wish you were Here’ inspired by the observations of the pool side scene in Miami, definitely left us feeling jealous of everything we saw coming down the runway.

Full of textiles and colours the duo continued to do what they do best – bold and cheeky with intricate detailing. For this season it saw the merge of womenswear and menswear come together at their LCM show. Male models were the epitome of buff and the looks did nothing but compliment their fit physique, they wore an array of knitted speedos and boxer shorts accessorised by Sibling towels – which were also hand knitted. In terms of womenswear we saw a selection of dresses and loose fitting suits in a tennis stripe. Looks were also mirrored between the women and the men – both wore lace corsets and cropped knitted jumpers with a crochet hem.

Known for their printed knitwear, this season saw a new zig-zag and leaf print introduced. These were present on cardigans, shorts, and dresses. As the looks went on the detailing and intensive work into every look began to get further, 3D embellishment in the shape of leaves decorated oversized jackets and shorts. Despite the fun and games that every Sibling show seems to be an impressive amount of work goes into the creation of every garment and that is something that should be celebrated.
