Mackintosh is a brand renowned for their high quality outerwear, however in recent years they have been partnering will other specialist brands to expand their offering. This season is no different, collaborating with Japanese bag brand Porter, they’ve created an impressive Spring/Summer collection.
Print was paramount. Mackintosh explored a range of prints, ranging from an exclusive Liberty paisley print to the trademark Porter camouflage. Whilst remaining true to their British heritage with the grid checks and candy stripes. This theme was consistent through to the bags as well as the outerwear. The use of Japanese denim from last season was continued into Spring/Summer 2017.
We were keen to uncover what it was that Mackintosh seek when planning these partnerships. We spoke to the Mackintosh team the the presentation and found out. We were told that aligning the brand’s values is imperative when collaborating. The chosen brand needs to share Mackintosh’s outlook on design and quality craftsmanship as well as having a strong heritage.
Mackintosh recently launched a hat collaboration with Maison Michel, with our cover star Anja Konstantinova as the face of the campaign
