Markus Lupfer’s SS18 collection brings us ‘the girl that never sleeps’, the epitome of socialite. She has a look to suit every mood as the world changes around her whether it be a party or the poolside. Amongst a sea of white balloons, models lounged like 70’s Hollywood starlets in printed orange and pink sheer dresses. Their oversized soft, sepia sunglasses just about light enough to tease the eyes, enticing us to come closer into her world. We saw psychedelic prints across pleated blue skirts and royal blue sequinned flowers. Trousers were cropped to show platforms with sparkling rainbows and ballet wrapped ankles. Pool side girl pairs sporty cropped knits and printed blouses with high waisted briefs. The collection emitted contemporary, eccentric glamour. Earrings fell perfectly just skimming the collar bone and each look completed with oversized sunglasses with wavy frames in black, navy, and soft pink. Dresses were imprinted with monkeys swinging from vines and sheer black organza over-skirts giving the classic shirt dress an unassuming yet mischievous feel. Lupfer’s collection is effortlessly cool, from bold colour to sheer black and blush pink; in platforms day and night, the girl is addicted to the pursuit of pleasure in the city and we want to know what she will wear next.
