On the 10th June, Qasimi showcased their SS18 collection at the British Fashion Council show space, taking inspiration from the past and composing a new future. Each look and individual piece in Qasimi’s SS18 collection exhibits delicate craftsmanship blended with new technologies, taking inspiration from the past alongside a facade of our future. An array of colour is showcased throughout the SS18 collection; from khaki and thyme, to granite and pale blue, each tone identifies with a different element of inspiration behind the collection.
The movements of the nomadic Bedouin tribes of the Middle East uphold influence behind the collection, reimaging the khaki and sienna colours with parachute silhouettes and coated linen, fluid canvas and oversized tops. Juxtaposed with the movements of the nomadic Bedouin tribes are the Military references throughout the collection. Combing the two influences in one SS18 collection takes a play on slim tapered and wide pleated trousers, with parachute nylon and overcast tones, successfully re-creating two different worlds into one intertwining original collection.
