Submerged in a sea of pink and pigtails, Ryan Lo displayed his AW17 collection at the BFC to showcase the collaboration with Hello Kitty. Placed at the end of the runway, was a pile of bin bags sprayed with pastel yellow and pink tones, enticing the guests with an unconventional autumn palette. Models emerged in floor length Kitty print gowns with exaggerated ruffles and florals, along with sherbet yellow dresses with ruched detailing. Also featured was an unmissable, fluffy statement coat in red and bubble-gum pink paired with Hello Kitty slim leg trousers. The designer favoured stars this season with the oversized print featured on a pink knit midi dress and snug red jacket. He also paired a sparkly, star print, camouflage maxi skirt with metallic pink trainers and oversized, bright fuchsia sweat shirts with enlarged print detailing. The make up by MAC kept in sequence with the feel of the collection. Models were sporting black, feline flicks with strong green and purple shades swept across the eye lid as numerous sets of lashes sat underneath their heavy, pastel fringes. Accessories consisted of kooky yellow plastic chain necklaces and pink camouflage wool hats to tie in with the fleece, camo printed trousers. Ryan Lo’s collection was well received with the fun styling and colours, encouraging us to bring out our inner child.
