Apu Jan’s Spring Summer 2017 collection showcased his fantasy world of an ancient summer night’s dream. Models wearing a variety of blue tones and classic monotone prints swept down the catwalk allowing us to envision the warmth of a midsummer evening all over again. A blissful, serene atmosphere filled the room once the sounds of DJ Question Mark and Slow Shudder began to fill the room.

Models wore a mix of jacquard fabrics presented in stripes, check and graphic florals. The collection included a classic crisp white shirt but paired with an unconventional off the shoulder trench coat, Along with knitted accessories – a woolen cream hat. We also saw dramatic floor length skirts with the pattern of a fossil and a mint knitted scarf featuring the skeleton of a dinosaur – a nod to Apu Jans idea of a fantasy world being filled with fossils and dinosaurs. The models were youthful with fresh faces except a peachy colour swept across the eyes and lips, the hair reminiscent of Vikings as models had hair in braids. The colour palette and the versatility of the collection made it feel accessible and more importantly very approachable.
