Taking a step back from the perhaps more conventional catwalk shows, Band of Outsiders put on quite the performance this season. Rather appropriately for this Autumn Winter season, the designer led you to the iconic ice rink at Somerset House. Not too sure what to expect as the ice began to clear of young families and couples, the scene was starts to set as the ice became the shows glossy platform. It was everything that I had been waiting for and more. The models were indeed a naturally diverse selection of professional figure skaters, with a German National Champion amongst them.
Alpine motifs on the back of reworked bomber jackets, alongside clean cut tailored coats in classic forrest green and navy and paired with a lot of well considered elasticated casual-wear. But of course, everyone was left talking about that voluminous Aspen White teddy bear coat making its return to the catwalk having been reconsidered from last Autumn Winter.
Band of Outsiders created a complete event, it was a whole Outsiders lifestyle. It was innovative, exciting and lighthearted. It was hard to believe that we were less than five minutes from the heart of fashion week, yet completely taken away.
