Paul Costelloe – London Fashion Week – AW18

In the sumptuous setting of The Waldorf Hilton Hotel, Paul Costelloe treated his guests to a morning of sophistication and charm. The collection by the Irish-American designer reflects his Irish heritage and leaving his homeland in pursuit for a new life and new dreams. Costello employs textures as a key tool for juxtaposition and contrast. The undulating fibres of tweed and flannel herringbones are off-set by the luxurious softness of velvet for mens double-breasted waistcoats in dark burgundy, while shirting lift the looks with paisley and floral prints in bold hues of red, navy and purple. Long dresses with tight tailoring are emblematic of the Paul Costelloe DNA and are complimented by knitwear with voluminous sleeves. This layering and the playing with volumes is carried through the dresses and coats, featuring hand-embroidered detailing on different tweeds and abstract prints. With womenswear and menswear joining hands for Paul Costelloe Autumn/ Winter 2018, a story of connections and the unstoppable force of change shines through.
